TEDMED 2010 Presentations

These are crazy good presentations – fyi.  Oh, TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design.  and…. the TED app on the iPad is crazy cool and constant source of inspiration.

It's a pleasure to announce that today we are launching videos from TEDMED 2010!

Our first video begins with opera singer, Charity Tillemann-Dick, who was our first presenter this past October.  Charity's beautiful voice was not only entertaining, but inspiring as well.  Exactly one year prior to the day she was on stage, Charity awoke from a coma after having a double lung transplant.  Charity's story is not to be missed!  You can view her talk here:

Following Charity, we invited Dr. Shaf Keshavjee from Toronto, who is pioneering new technology to help organ recipients.  Dr. Keshavjee brought with him to TEDMED, a live breathing lung for all to see and touch.  You can watch Shaf's amazing presentation here:

Also check out CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who unexpectedly found himself in Haiti for the cholera outbreak, but still spoke at TEDMED live via satellite.  Sanjay offers important insight and information, along with his continued compassion.  Watch Sanjay here:

Need a little laughter?  Check out televisions Stephen Colbert, who welcomes the TEDMED audience with a humorous overview of the 2010 program.  Tune into Stephen Colbert here:

All our videos are free and available to the public at … so please share them with others.  More TEDMED talks will be released soon; each one offering new insight, ideas, and inspiration into the diverse world of medicine and healthcare.

Please note:  Registration for TEDMED 2011 is open.  The dates are October 25-28, 2011, once again at the magnificent Hotel del Coronado in San Diego.  The 2010 event sold out with a wait list hundreds long… so we encourage anyone interested in attending TEDMED 2011 to secure their seat now:

Stay in touch and as always, we welcome your ideas and input.
